Rubenstein ABSTRACT I will give a technical overview of the Columbia University campus network and connectivity to the Internet and Internet2. The overview will discuss general network design and engineering as well as some of the advanced services and applications supported by the network such as protocol independent multicast, wireless LANs, IPv6, hi fidelity MPEG2 conferencing for music instruction, and future plans. Also, it is possible to give a tour of some of the equipment that is used to support networking at Columbia. Those interested should contact Dan (danr@ee.columbia.edu). A group of about 5 or 6 people can go with Alan to see the machinery that keeps our network up and running.
